Ready to roll
The Capital City Cycling Club readies for another Saturday ride.
In addition to their weekly tour through the Columbus area, look for the group at BikeAid V, an annual pledge ride for the benefit of Columbus AIDS Task Force on Saturday, August 27 at 8 am.
Though the fundraiser was started five years ago by a cycling-crazed CATF board member, Capital City has since made the event a group focus. Says Janet Ferguson of CATF, "Over the last three years, Capital City Cycling have adopted BikeAid as a club project. They're now an integral part of the fun and success of the event."
More than 400 people have participated in BikeAid over the past four years. Ferguson says that so far registration is around 75, though by day of the event that number could double. The route starts in Sycamore Creek Park in Pickerington, on Columbus' east side. For more information about BikeAid V, or to obtain a pledge sheet, contact the Columbus AIDS Task Force at 488-2437.
